New Friends, hello and welcome to our website
Dormer.ie Here you will find all sorts of useful products
for dry cleaning, laundry and wet cleaning.My name is Tia
and I am a four year old German Sheppard who loves meeting
new people, good food and writing my new blog, 'The Dog's
Blog' (the collective creativity of the Dormer Management
could only come up with this title!). However
I cannot be with you right now as I am at The North Pole
visiting Santa. Children, you can post your letters to me
to Tia, Dormer Ireland Limited, Castlebellingham County
Louth Ireland, because I will be seeing Santa again before
Christmas.(He's a personal friend of mine).Don't you worry
I will get your letter to him in person.

Dormer Day on 28 September was great
fun and I'm delighted to be writing the official blog for
the event! We had forty dry cleaners from across Ireland
and the UK visit us at our showroom and factory in Castlebellingham.

Peter
Corrigan, seen here on your left, Dormer Sales Director, went
through the Dormer Hangers and the beautiful new christening
and wedding boxes we are now supplying. Peter also showed
off the great tie hangers and transport hangers that we manufacture
here in Castlebellingham!
Peter Corrigan also did an excellent wet cleaning demonstration.
He was challenged to clean several dresses that still had
stains on them after being dry cleaned several times. To increase
the challenge he was also asked to pour red wine on one of
the dresses. Of course this was no match for our Peter and
our high quality wet cleaning machines. The dry cleaners who
had given us the dresses to clean were delighted with the
results. Not surprising given that wet cleaning can be more
effective than dry cleaning at removing many stains! |

We had a number of very informative
speakers talking about insurance, managing costs and health
and safety risks.
We had John Mollohan from JLT Insurance
Brokers, David O'Reagan DORCO Accountants and Nicholas De
Paor from the Health and Safety Authority. They all focused
on topics relevant to the dry cleaning sector and there
was some lively debate! I was far too busy helping co-ordinate
events that I didn't get time to listen to all the speakers
but from talking to some of the dry cleaners later on in
the day I know the talks were well received.

We
also had Ian Weaver and Nigel Russell from the Rug Doctor
demonstrate their brilliant carpet cleaning machines. The
Rug Doctor offers dry cleaners the chance to generate additional
income by renting out machines to their customers. When customers
are collecting and returning the Rug Doctor Machines back
to dry cleaners they often bring garments with them for cleaning.
Also the Rug Doctor machines help attract new customers to
a dry cleaner!
We already have a number of dry cleaners ordering the Rug
Doctor and are busy helping the Rug Doctor guys install machines
around Ireland. I'm very excited that the Rug Doctor is going
to be advertised on TV3 and the Mail on Sunday in the next
few weeks! |

My
personal highlight of Dormer Day was when the food arrived
at lunchtime. The food was beautifully prepared by local Indian
restaurant, Indus. Bipul the restaurant owner had consulted
me on what meals to serve up and even though I say it myself
the Chicken Shashlik and the Lamb Rogan Josh were excellent
choices! If you are ever passing through Drogheda I can highly
recommend a visit to Indus. Just let Bipul know that you saw
the recommendation on Tia's blog! |

I
would like to thank the customers who joined us for Dormer
Day and also say many thanks to all the guys in Dormer who
worked very hard to make the day such a great success.
